It depends on your home. Ductless mini-splits (like Mitsubishi) are ideal for homes without existing ductwork, room additions, or zoned heating/cooling needs. They’re also more efficient (up to 33 SEER) since there’s no duct loss. Central systems are better for whole-home comfort with existing ductwork. Many Portland homes benefit from hybrid systems using both technologies.
Carrier offers 10-year parts warranties when registered, with lifetime heat exchanger warranties on select furnaces. Mitsubishi offers 12-year compressor warranties when installed by Diamond Contractors like us. The key is proper installation and registration, warranties can be voided by improper installation regardless of brand.
